人と人、人と街、街と街の中に生じた「不安を抱かせる微かなズレ」を見つけて日々撮影しています。

元々、日本人のDNAに刻まれている「やおよろずのかみ」信仰というものがあります。仏教が伝わるよりもはるか昔に、すべてのものに神様が宿ると信じられていました。いわゆるアニミズムですね。

その物達が粗末に扱われ放置されると人々に恨みを抱き「付喪神（つくもがみ）」という妖怪になります。これがよくいわれるモノノケ（物の怪）のことです。そしてこのモノノケ達が夜、徒党を組んで行進しているさまを「百鬼夜行（ひゃっきやぎょう）」と呼びます。

私は普段から、路傍に打ち捨てられている物達がモノノケにならないように、鎮魂のために撮影します。しかし、鎮魂が追いつかないのが現状です。この世の中には、いたるところにモノノケ達がいて、夜な夜な行進しているのです。

Every day I find and photograph the ‘subtle gaps that cause unease’ that occur between people, between people and towns, and between towns and cities.

Originally, the belief in "Yaoyorozu no Kami" is engraved in the DNA of the Japanese people. Long before the introduction of Buddhism, it was believed that gods reside in everything. This is what is known as animism. When these objects are treated poorly and neglected, they become resentful towards people and turn into monsters called "Tsukumogami." These are Mononoke. And when these Mononoke march together at night, it is called the "百鬼夜行（Hyakki Yagyo）."

I usually take pictures of things abandoned by the roadside to appease their spirits and to prevent them from becoming Mononoke. However, the reality is that the appeasement efforts are not keeping up. Mononoke exist everywhere in this world, marching every night.
